The Stacks

Washington, DC Residential, retail, office, hotel, pedestrian street, marina 7-acre Buzzard Point neighborhood

The Idea

A 7-acre neighborhood with a name that promises it won’t blend in.

On Buzzard Point, where the Anacostia bends past Audi Field, a 7-acre, 2M SF district arrived as Altogether Different, with a teal-and-yellow window-grid identity built to stand apart from the glass towers filling in around it.

What we did

Named and positioned a new Buzzard Point neighborhood and built its identity. Altogether Different, expressed through a teal-and-yellow window-grid mark, with the messaging and launch to introduce it to a fast-changing stretch of the DC waterfront.

Illustration

A neighborhood drawn in one line.

A commissioned set of line drawings carries the brand where photography can’t: before the buildings exist. Each one shows a small moment of life at Buzzard Point, with the Capitol, the Monument or the river in the background to place it. They run across the website, signage, stationery and the leasing gallery.
